6/9/14 Daily Devotion

Ephesians 4:1-3 as a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

Paul sets the bar high within these verses. He states that we should be completely humble, gentle, patient and willing to put up with one another out of love. WHAT??? What’s the difference? Why should we have to act in this manner? Well it’s simple: because this is what a reflection of Jesus looks like. This is what it means to represent Jesus within this world. The wording of Paul here is very interesting: “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” Not partially. Not when we feel like it is necessary. Not when it will benefit us the most. ALWAYS. Always act in a manner that is reflective of Jesus. Always act in a manner that demonstrates His presence within our live.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me to always act in a manner that is reflective of Your presence within my life.
