7/10/14 Daily Devotion

Ephesians 5:29 After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church–

There are times when we are not happy with ourselves. Times when we are ashamed of ourselves because we have done something wrong. Times when we are mad at ourselves because we have said something wrong. Times when we do not even understand why we feel disappointed in ourselves. Even so, most of the time we are pleased with our existence; most of the time we are happy with the direction of our lives. This is so because we strive to find success and happiness in our lives. We strive to find our niche, our place, our purpose. While we might not always like who we are or where we are, we will always be happy about our general existence. Well, what if we had the same feelings about others? What if, even though they sometimes make us mad, we still cared about their existence? What if we still cared about their eternity? Wouldn’t this world be a much better place to live?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me see others in a more positive light. Help me see their existence as a wonderful blessing within my own life.
