Bible Review, Celebrate Recovery Bible

The Celebrate Recovery Bible: A Purpose Driven Recovery Resource With Devotions And Articles By John Baker, is a Bible centered around the Celebrate Recovery program established through the Saddleback Church founded by Pastor Rick Warren.

This is a uniquely designed NIV Bible. It is filled with features that are designed to draw its readers to finding recovery as they break free from the hurts and addictions that trap so many people today. One such powerful feature is The Road To Recovery. The Road To Recovery, based on the beatitudes, are eight principles designed to guide one through a process of change, love, and faith.

Other features include: Book Introductions, Character Studies, Recovery Stories, Lesson Studies, Recovery Related Scripture Tie, Daily Devotionals, Subject Index, and several others. Each of these features is designed so those utilizing this Bible get the most out of scripture while going through the recovery process.

There is one important feature that this Bible is missing; it is not a red letter edition. I understand that this raises the cost of printing, but the designation of Christ’s Words in red allows new or young Christians to know without a doubt that these are His personal instruction, His personal words.

This Bible would make a wonderful gift for someone struggling within the difficulties that have entered their lives, thus it is a recommended purchase.
