8/8/14 Daily Devotion

James 1:6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

The seeking of the wisdom from God is a sign of a maturing faith, but the seeking is only part of the equation, for the manner in which we seek is is drastically important. When we seek the wisdom of God, when we ask Him for direction, we should do so with the utmost confidence, we should do so not possessing doubt. If we ask and doubt, we are demonstrating that we do not believe God has sufficient knowledge to lead us in the proper direction. If we ask for wisdom but continue to doubt that it can be brought by God, we do not believe that God is really GOD. Our doubt is a reflection of our relationship or lack thereof with God. Do you doubt when speaking of the capabilities of God?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me believe that You can do all that You claim.
