9/23/14 Daily Devotion

James 3:2 We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.

Who can keep their whole body in check? Who has the ability to be without fault at all times? Of course, the only answer would be Jesus. None of us are perfect. All of us make mistakes. This is an easy statement to make, and we do it so well, as it refers to others; but we usually leave ourselves out of the discussion. People don’t like to talk about their faults. People don’t like to refer to their mistakes, and by doing so they miss out an amazing opportunity. People want to know that we are imperfect. They want to know we have faults, and they want to see us deal with them in a Godly manner. None of us are perfect, but our imperfections allow us the opportunity to share the grace of God.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me embrace my imperfections and utilize them to demonstrate Your mercy.
