10/10/14 Daily Devotion

James 4:11 Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it.

So many Christians today speak in an unchristian manner. Many do not feel that their harsh words are inappropriate. Some of them even justify using foul language to catch someone’s attention or keep someone on track. Negative words flow about others, even those who attend the same house of worship, those that they call brothers or sisters. We must come to understand the importance behind our choice of words. Words have the power to heal and the power to destroy. While negative or foul words might not destroy another person, they will surely destroy our reputation.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help that which flows from my mouth bring You glory.
