10/27/14 Daily Devotion

James 5:7 Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains.

Patience is something that God expects of all of His children. Patience allows us to wait for Him to return. Patience allows us to wait for His decisions in regards to our prayers. Patience allows us to deal with people as we travel through life on earth. Patience is something that grows as we mature. It’s something that we learn more about as we are faced with the lessons of life. It’s something that, as it is practiced, will change lives. When we are patient with others, even if they are the cause of strife in our lives, it speaks to the content of our hearts. We must come to look at others with the same patience that God has when He deals with us daily.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me begin to possess the patience of Job.
