10/31/14 Daily Devotion

James 5:11 As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

The story of Job is an amazing picture of patience. Job had it all, and, in what was almost an instance, he lost it all. The manner in which he carried himself, the manner in which he continued to trust in God, is nothing short of amazing. His example is not one of a powerful person, his example is from which every Christian can learn. After Job persevered through the circumstances that were set before him, he was blessed. While Job’s blessings were immense, ours will likely be on the lower end of the scale. Even if all we gain is knowledge, then we are truly blessed.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me become a patient person, one who looks at each circumstance with a proper perspective.
