11/10/14 Daily Devotion

James 1:12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

Nobody asks to be tempted. Nobody asks to walk straight into trials; but to each of our lives, trials and temptations will arrive. As we are willing to serve God, the devil is willing to attempt to lead us astray. If he knows we are serious about our relationships with God, he will be serious about trying to cause us to fall out of our faith. Knowing this is the reality of our relationships with God. Knowing that the devil will come after God’s people, we must find the strength to preserve through to the end, till that moment when we leave this earth and enter the eternal. That can only happen with God. On our own, we shall fail. On our own, we will lose. On our own, we have no chance. But, as we lean on the power of God, we shall become victorious, we shall preserve to the end and receive the crown of life. So begin today to lean on God through all trials, through all temptations, and see the great things He is willing to do in your life.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me release into Your presence all of my trials, all of my temptations.
