11/12/14 Daily Devotion

James 2:1 My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don’t show favoritism.

Favoritism is wrong because it shows the wrong amount of attention to one person or group of people while neglecting others. Favoritism is wrong, but we fall into its clutches almost every day. We treat people differently based on the placement they have within our lives. We treat people differently based on their stature in life; thus it is based upon that which they can do for us or a certain cause we are behind. Favoritism is wrong because it places people in different positions. In the eyes of God, all people are equal; thus we should treat everyone as equals.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me treat people in a manner that glorifies You, not in a way that gives me an advantage in life.
