11/13/14 Daily Devotion

James 2:8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right.

It’s really hard to love all people. There are just some people that have a special gift, the gift of driving us into another realm of reality. They have a way of taking a good day and transforming it into, possibly, the worst day of our lives. They have a knack for turning our smile into a frown. But the Bible states that we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. When we hear this teaching, it might make us consider moving to a place where we have no neighbors, for that would make life easier. But God is not concerned about easier, He is concerned about what is right. While it might be hard to love everyone, we can make it happen, not by our power or strength, but by the grace of God and God alone.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me love and treat others as I hope they would do in return.
