11/26/14 Daily Devotion

Malachi 1:8-9 When you bring blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice crippled or diseased animals, is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you?” says the Lord Almighty. “Now implore God to be gracious to us. With such offerings from your hands, will he accept you?”–says the Lord Almighty.

Unfortunately, there are times when we treat those in the flesh better than we treat God. While it really makes no sense, it happens because we see instant benefits from our fellow man. When we treat man better than God, we seek instant personal gain (and that’s what so many seek); that’s what so many desire. We can worry about God later. We still have time to reap the benefits of life before we have to worry about standing before God in judgment. The only flaw in this thinking revolves around the fact that we do not know how long we will be on this earth, thus it is imperative that we present our lives in a manner that pleases God and not in a way that reaps the benefit of man.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me live a life that shows this world that You are the most important aspect of my existence.
