11/4/14 Daily Devotion

James 5:14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.

We are members of the body of Christ. This membership comes with many responsibilities, many expectations. One of these expectations is being there for our brothers and sisters in Christ. God expects us to reach into each other’s lives and seek to make a difference; but He also expects us to have the courage to ask others to step in through prayer, guidance, encouragement, and/or friendship. We should never feel that it is necessary to walk through our circumstances alone. We should never feel as if we would be a burden to another person if we asked for help or guidance. We should always feel as if we are welcome to seek the help of others in the church, especially the church leaders.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me seek help from my church family when it becomes necessary and help this occur without any hesitation.
