Malachi 3:2 But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.

When Malachi refers to the coming of Christ, the coming of God’s messenger, he is referring to the first coming of Christ. But looking at this, we might allow it to refer us to the second coming of Christ, for that is what we are hoping for. That is what we are waiting upon. But the question must be asked: Are we ready to endure the coming of Christ? The quick, simple answer would be yes, of course, but is this really factual? Are we ready for Christ to come and get His church and carry her home? Are we ready at this moment to stand before God and be judged for the manner in which we lived our lives here on earth? Are we ready to hear Jesus tell us exactly where we will spend eternity? These are tough, serious questions that must be answered. For if we don’t, we might not truly be ready to endure the coming of Christ.

Prayer Starter:

Lord help me live in a way that invites You to return and judge my life.
