12/17/14 Daily Devotion

Malachi 3:3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness,

Let’s continue along the lines of yesterday’s devotion. If we are not ready for the coming of Christ, we must change, and that change can only occur if we allow God to refine our lives. Nobody is perfect. This is true. But God expects us to strive for perfection, and this can only happen if we powerfully allow Him to be Lord of of our lives, if we allow Him to show us exactly where we are in our walk with Him. God can help us change our focus. He can help us embrace our true purpose. He can guide us into a new meaning for our existence, if we would just allow Him to have control of our lives. It’s not easy to release control of our lives, but it is a necessity if God is going to refine us into something beautiful, something reflective of His name, something that will glorify Him.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me completely surrender my life to You, so the good work that You have begun in me can be brought to completion.
