12/22/14 Daily Devotion

Malachi 3:7 Ever since the time of your forefathers you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty.“But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’

The wonderful thing about God is His willingness to allow us to come back into His presence. God is not like us in regards to the negative impact on a relationship. We have a tendency to keep people at arm’s length, so to say, when they have hurt us, when they have caused problems in our lives. We have a hard time forgiving others when they have done us wrong. We should be grateful that God is not comparable to us and how we treat others. We should be grateful that God is willing to forgive us when we have sinned, to restore us when we have fallen, to guide us back onto the path to righteousness when we have gone astray.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me be grateful for Your forgiveness and Your unchanging grace.
