12/26/14 Daily Devotion

Malachi 3:13-14 “You have said harsh things against me,” says the Lord.“Yet you ask, ‘What have we said against you?’ “You have said, ‘It is futile to serve God. What did we gain by carrying out his requirements and going about like mourners before the Lord Almighty?

Do we sometimes live our lives as if serving God is of no benefit? YES. Do we express through our attitudes and actions, or lack thereof, that we do not believe serving God is important? YES. We are human, and we live within the propensity towards sin. We were born into sin, and sin knocks at our door every moment it gets a chance, hoping that we will open the door in a welcoming fashion. We might not even realize what our words or actions are stating. We might not even realize that we are giving the impression that we don’t care about the desires of God. We might not even realize it, but we better figure it out before it is too late to change. We better realize it before it’s too late to repent and receive forgiveness. God will freely offer us forgiveness, but it cannot come until we admit that we have done wrong.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me become willing to admit to my frailties and seek Your forgiveness.
