12/29/14 Daily Devotion

Malachi 4:1 “Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the Lord Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them.

Being ready for the second coming of Christ cannot be overstated. Many people walk casually through life, believing that they have plenty of time, believing that their good health will afford them numerous years on earth, thus allowing them plenty of time to prepare. We are not guaranteed even another minute of breath, thus we must seek to prepare to meet our Maker. We must seek to rid our lives of sin, to remove anything that does not resemble godliness, to refrain from anything that does not represent holiness, to discontinue anything that does not honor and/or glorify God. Take the time today to examine your life and ask yourself if you are truly ready to stand before God in judgment.

Prayers Starter:

Lord, help me prepare my heart and my life for the moment I leave this world and enter the eternal. May I be ready for You to stand in judgment of my life.
