1/16/15 Daily Devotion

Acts 1:24-25 Then they prayed, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen to take over this apostolic ministry, which Judas left to go where he belongs.”

In deciding something as important as a replacement for Judas, their first call to action was prayer. They asked for God’s wisdom. They asked for God’s direction. They asked for God’s choice. How often do we pray before making decisions? How often do we seek the guidance of God before making decisions? How long do we wait on God’s direction before we go off on our own? God wants us to seek Him within all situations. He wants to be our guide, our leader, the One we seek first, before we act.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me understand the importance of seeking Your advice before I move forward in any situation.
