1/28/15 Daily Devotion

Acts 2:22-24 “Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. This man was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.

So Peter’s first action was to respond to the accusations of drunkenness and then move on to Jesus. His intention was to change their focus and see the truth of what had happened and the reason behind its occurrence: Jesus. Jesus should be the center of our story, the center of our lives. When people hear us speak, it should be as if they are hearing the words of Christ. When people see us move through life, it should be as if they were seeing the movements of Christ. When people see us react to the various situations that will happen, they must see the reactions of Christ. Our lives must scream of the presence of Christ, or they will scream of a false witness filled with ineffectual words.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help my life speak truthfully to Your presence and the gratitude I have for all You have done.
