1/29/15 Daily Devotion

Acts 2:36-37 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

Peter hit them with a hard truth. They were the reason Jesus was crucified. They were the reason that He lost His life. These words greatly impacted their lives. They hit right in the center of their existence. They hit them in the depths of their hearts. When was the last time the Word of God did that for you? When was the last time a conviction rose up within your life? The truth of God’s Word should bring us to a point where we feel the urge or need to change. It should bring us to the point where we know we are not right with God, to the point where we want to nothing else, aside from getting right with God. If it doesn’t, our hearts have been hardened and our desire to serve God has departed.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help my heart become convicted when I stray from Your path.
