2/2/15 Daily Devotion

Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Those that were saved, those that choose the way of Christ, those that chose forgiveness and salvation, devoted themselves to the teaching of the disciples, to fellowship with like believers, to communion and prayer. They devoted themselves to that which helped them grow into stronger Christians. They found Christ, and they wanted more of Him, a greater understanding of His ways. This usually happens right after our conversion, and it often begins to dissipate after time passes. When this happens, we need to grab onto the knowledge of our salvation, to the day when the shed blood of Christ washed away our sins, to the day our transformation first began, and remember. Remember how we felt. Remember what happened. Remember how we changed. Remember how our focus was altered. We need to remember these aspects of our transformation and hold them close to our hearts as life brings us challenges. This will help us find the strength to move forward with powerful faith.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me remember the moment I came into Your presence and found salvation, especially within the moments of difficulty that enter my life.
