2/12/15 Daily Devotion

Acts 3:7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.

Instantly, the power of God heals the crippled man. Instantly, his life was changed forever. Instantly, he had an amazing story to share. It was not Peter who healed this man; it was God. Peter did nothing but believe that God was capable of healing. He did nothing but believe that this man could be given a chance at a new life because of Christ. Peter believed, and so did the crippled man. They both believed in the power of God. Now, we can imagine that the initial lifting to his feet must have been difficult. He was crippled. He could not walk, but Peter offers a new chance through a simple command: walk. He could have stayed on the mat. He could have chosen to remain in a defective state, but instead he chose to believe in the power of God. Do we believe in God in the same manner? Do we go to Him when we are sick, asking for healing? Do we go to Him, knowing that He can change our lives according to His will? Do we truly believe in what can happen if we allow God to work within our lives?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me believe in what You can do within my life. Help me believe and not doubt Your capabilities.
