2/16/15 Daily Devotion

Acts 3:11-12 While the beggar held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon’s Colonnade. When Peter saw this, he said to them: “Men of Israel, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?

This is where the story gets amazing. Peter and John had a great opportunity set before them by the onlookers. They had the opportunity to absorb all the glory for the change brought into this man’s life. They had the opportunity to seek personal glory, but they refused. They pointed to God. They pointed towards God and gave Him all the glory. This is not seen much in today’s society. We reach for the glory. We jump at the chance to be elevated above our peers. This attitude is completely wrong. There is nothing wrong with accepting a moment of appreciation for a job well done, but the glory, the honor, must always be given to God.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me be one who always gives You the credit for the great things happening in my life.
