Daily Devotion 3/19/15

Acts 5:38 Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail.

The apostles were trying to help the religious leaders understand that their activities were ordained by God. They wanted them to understand that their actions were not in any way for personal gain or self-glorification. They encouraged them to test their actions. For if their actions were not ordained by God, they would not produce results. If their actions were not ordained by God, they would surely fail. If we are trying to serve God in  the manner that He has ordained for our lives, He will bless our efforts; but if we strive to serve out of selfish motives or personal desires, eventually we will fail. If we strive to serve ourselves, God will step aside and let us walk upon the path of our choosing until we realize how misdirected our lives have become.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me find the power of Your blessings upon a walk that is focused on You.
