Daily Devotion 3/24/15

Acts 6:2-3 So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them

The widows’ complaints were heard, and a plan was devised to bring this issue to a plausible solution. It was not right to place a bigger burden on the leaders, for this would make their tasks more difficult to bring to fruition. So instead, seven from among the men were chosen to see to the needs of the widows. This is an amazing idea. The burden, the workload, shouldn’t be placed on the shoulders of a few when the responsibilities should be spread out amongst the people. Everyone should do their share. Everyone should be willing to serve. Everyone should be willing to help the church succeed. Everyone should be willing to help the church, not only help its own members, but also reach out into the community.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me be willing to step forward and do my part.
