Daily Devotion 3/27/15

Acts 6:6 They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them. So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.

They didn’t just look at the chosen men and say “Good luck. God’s speed,” They set them apart. The apostles laid their hands on them and prayed. They prayed for their influence to be seen. They prayed that their actions would reflect a positive relationship with Jesus. They prayed that they would take seriously the task for which they were set apart. Being set apart to serve God is something that needs to be taken seriously. When we are chosen by God to serve Him, the manner in which we serve is important. We must serve as if it were the most important job in the world. We must serve as if it were being done to honor God. We must serve as if the salvation of many were at risk.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me serve You as if I understand that it is the most important aspect of my life.
