Daily Devotion 3/30/15

Acts 6:8-10 Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people. Opposition arose, however, from members of the Synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called)–Jews of Cyrene and Alexandria as well as the provinces of Cilicia and Asia. These men began to argue with Stephen, but they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke.

Stephen was a wonderful example of a Spirit led servant of God. In all that he did, he sought to raise people into the presence of God, so they could receive forgiveness and salvation. He did not give himself any credit for that which happened through his efforts. He gave all the glory to God. Is that the same way we live? Is that the same way we serve? When others watch us, can they see that we are serving God? Do they know that it’s not for our glory, but for the glory of God that we have helped them, that we have reached out into their circumstances?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me serve You in such a manner that no one ever questions my motives, so no one ever doubts who I serve.
