Daily Devotion 4/1/15

Acts 7:1-3 Then the high priest asked him, “Are these charges true?” To this he replied: “Brothers and fathers, listen to me! The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham while he was still in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran. ‘Leave your country and your people,’ God said, ‘and go to the land I will show you.’

Stephen, a righteous man devoted to serving God, was brought before the high priest. The high priest wanted Stephen to give an answer regarding the charges that were brought forth. Stephen, filled with the Spirit, brought forth instead a marvelous message that could be backed up by scripture, one that could not be refuted, the story of salvation. The Bible states that we should be ready at a moment’s notice to give an answer in regard to our beliefs. This might be hard for new Christians, for they might not have all the scriptures memorized. Even so, it can be done in a way that introduces others to the reasoning behind our faith, the reason why we have chosen to be a servant of God.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me be ready to lead another into Your presence through the reasoning of my own personal faith.
