Daily Devotion 4/11/15

Acts 8:24 Then Simon answered, “Pray to the Lord for me so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”

Simon seemingly had a change of heart. After Peter confronted him about his selfish desires, Simon seemingly came to realize that he was not walking on the path of God, but instead seeking selfish glory. He had been baptized, but had not realized what it meant to truly give your life up to Christ. Simon is no different than many people today. Many people want religion without sacrifice. They want Heaven without sacrifice on earth, but that’s not how Christianity works. Christians are expected to change, to conform, to become a reflection of Jesus. They cannot be the same. Otherwise, the gospel has not infiltrated their hearts.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help the appearance of my life change so it reflects more of You and less of anything else.
