Daily Devotion 4/18/15

Acts 8:39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing.

This verse paints an amazing image of God’s power to transform and move within our lives. Philip was brought there by the urging of God. He was told to go forth into the presence of the eunuch. He taught him the meaning of salvation, and he baptized him into the Father, Son, and  Holy Spirit. Suddenly, Philip was gone. He was no longer needed, so God placed him elsewhere. The eunuch was probably stunned at the disappearance of the Philip, but the joy of his salvation overtook his thoughts and feelings. Has that happened to you lately? Has the joy of your salvation overtaken your thoughts, your actions? Has the joy of your salvation brought sunshine into your day, even as the clouds roll past? Has the joy of your salvation caused you to rejoice in gratitude for the presence of God within your life? If the answer to any of these questions is no,  then there is a lot that you need to consider.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me allow the joy of my salvation to flow through my thoughts and actions.
