Daily Devotion 4/4/15

Acts 8:1-3 And Saul was there, giving approval to his death. The Church Persecuted and Scattered On that day a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison.

This is the point where Saul enters into scripture. Saul persecuted Christians as much as possible. He was educated and dedicated; educated religiously and dedicated to preventing anyone from sharing what he believed was blasphemy against God. He gave approval to Stephen’s death. He went from place to place, dragging Christians off to prison. In all he did, he believed that he was doing the will of God. Saul’s intentions were misdirected because he wasn’t in full contact with God, and this came from his refusal to see Jesus as the Messiah. As Christians, we must set our lives before God and seek His guidance in all situations, in all circumstances. We must try not to take a step until we know we are walking upon the path of God. For if we do, might trip and fall away from our relationship with God.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me see what You would have me do while I am upon this earth.
