Ephesians 2:3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.

What makes something wrong? What makes something inappropriate? The answer to those questions have certainly changed over time. At one point, for the majority, the Bible was the mode of declaration in regards to right and wrong, but that seems to be a fad of the past. The determining factor in right and wrong today is found within ourselves. If that which we are doing is of no harm to anyone, if it is something that we have no qualms about, then it is perfectly acceptable, then it is right, even if it is wrong within Scripture. All of us have gratified the sinful nature, all of us have stepped in sin and found a moment of joy. Only one has walked upon this earth and remained sinless, and He who was without chose to die that we might receive forgiveness for ours. What makes something wrong? What makes something inappropriate? For the Christian, it must always be the Word of God.

Prayer Starter:

5/12/14 Daily Devotion

Ephesians 2:1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,

Nobody wants to think of himself as a sinner. No one wants to consider that his life is a reflection of that which is unholy. While no one wants to consider these feelings, while no one wants to consider himself in this manner, it is important that we come to terms with the reality of our existence. The Bible declares that ALL have sinned. That means that each of us have walked upon the incorrect path. That means that each of us were found to be dead in our transgressions, lost in our sins. This news does not have to be devastating, for we have a God that allowed His Son to suffer and die the death of a common criminal so we can have forgiveness, so we can have salvation. So, the fact that we were once dead in our transgressions is overpowered by our Savior who endured the cross so our sins could be washed away by His glorious blood.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, Your expression of love through the sacrifice of Jesus is not something I deserve, but I will do my best to show You my gratitude through my life.
