1/31/14 Daily Devotion

1 Timothy 5:8 If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

A person who is focused on God will be a person that sees to the needs of his family and its members. A person who is seeking to please God with his actions is a person who will seek to serve the members of his family. A Christian will be a servant to others, especially to his family. As members of the body of Christ, if we neglect those within our families, what does that say about our religion? What does that say about our faith? When we shout to The Lord in the presence of others at the same time we are neglecting our families, we are sending them a mixed message. We are giving them reason to question the validity of our faith. We MUST serve our families. We MUST provide for them to the best of our abilities, and in doing so we will be serving God.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, because of You help me become a powerful provider for my family.
